Back to blogging! Well... I had this 3 days SRJC Orientation for all JC1s... It was hyper fun! The theme for this year was VOYAGE. And all the JC1s were seperated into families... namely ARGO, BISMARCK, CALYPSO, DEMETER AND EREBUS. FYI, these names are actually boats and ships names... Well, i'm in the last family, EREBUS. Inside each family, there was further seperating into 6 groups in each family. I'm in Erebus 1. My Orientation Group Leaders (OGL) are Elizabeth and Jane. They rox mans! The aim is to collect as much medallions as we can... each gold medallion is worth a 100 points... so the family with the most points at the end of the 3 orientation days is the winner. We collect medallions through our cheers and games.
On the 1st day of orientation, it started off by a speech from the SRJC pricipal... i wasn't even listening to the principal... coz i was busy chatting with my new fren... YANNI! hahas... and we were practically frozen after the principal finishes his talk... coz of the air-con! Its like practically blowing directly at us! then followed on was the games. We played Icebreakers and whacko. Whacko was quite fun la but icebreakers was damn sian. Until my turn rite, i just told them we couldn't hear their names. HAHA! So they restarted the game and they start from me and my refound fren from another grp... i forgot wats her name... Then we were led to the classrooms and we got lost! haha me and yanni lost our group... in the end we saw an OGL and ask him for directions... In class, we were each given our subject combination forms and was given a copy of the subject combinations requirements and course code paper... then got any questions regarding the combinations can ask the teacher-in-charge... so i asked him whether i can transfer to the science course anot... then he told me to follow him to see the HOD of Humanities, Mr Tay. Went to see him and told him the grades i've gotten. He told me to put my first choice as a sciece course. hahas... After that was lunch at the canteen... then we were given lots of advertisements to sign up for those magazines designed to help us in our GP... I ate fried rice... quite ok la... maybe salty a lil bit... after that we played a game. Err... i dun noe whats its called... but I saw that some JC2s students play it too... Its a SRJC game. Followed on was the cheering session... Whereby we learnt new cheers from our OGLs. I kind of like the "Whatever" cheer. Its being used when the other families "suan" us... then we use "whatever" cheer to suan them back... Whatever... whatever! We showed the "W" sign using our index fingers and thumbs from both hands... After the cheerings and games was the looonnngg and bboorriinngg subject combination speech. Then, we were led around the whole sch for a tour... And we got back to the lecture threatre and there's more cheers... was getting really exhausted by then... they told us that we will be getting home at around 5.30pm and guess what... after we've learnt our college cheers and song, its already 6pm... i was like wat the?! and of coz la... we earned some medallions through our cheers... we have to please them by shouting until the whole building will collapse... hahas... We were officially dismissed from the hall at 6.30pm... it wasnt even raining at 6pm... and it started raining heavily when we were dismissed! Day 1 wasnt really fun... to be frank... i find it a rather waste of time and energy... thought of not going the next day... BUT luckily i went... coz the second day was FUN! On the second day... I reached school quite early... went toliet to tie up my hair with my fren... after the flag-rising and everything... we had yet another subject combination talk... then we were told to change into pe attire and we had games! I really had fun in the games! Theres one whereby we need to join up straws and make them into ramps for ping pong balls to roll down... and guess wat? We won! The second game was the water bombs one. Yanni, PJ, Mas, another girl which i forgot her name and I went to the stadium tracks there. the rest of the group members will throw the water bombs from the audiences stand and our job is to catch the water bombs using a brown sack... and we didnt managed to win in the end... coz we didnt manage to catch a few water bombs initially coz they didnt tell us they were going to start throwing... so we were unprepared la... luckily i nv get bombed... hahas... only my shoes is wet... third game was the mud one... the digusting one... we crawled through mud... its like gross la... we juz chiong-ed through this game... coz the aim of the game is aso to finish crawling through the mud at the fastest speed and to not allow any of the bells attached to the string... its like impossible not to ring the bells lor... so we decided to just chiong through... woahs... after that there was mud on both of my hands and legs! its sooo itchy! Quickly go to the tap nearby and wash up. then still not clean enough... so went toliet... haha. had a so called "bath". --To be continued...-- |
